YallaMotor’s website is a comprehensive resource for car buyers and sellers, but it can be difficult for users to make direct contact with one another to discuss buying or selling a vehicle. There is a need for a mobile app that connects car buyers and sellers in a more efficient and convenient way, allowing them to communicate through phone, SMS, or WhatsApp.

Overview
Problem Statement
To design a user-friendly mobile App that connects car buyers and sellers efficiently and effectively through various communication channels such as Phone, SMS, and WhatsApp. The App should be simple, easy to navigate, and provide all necessary information, such as car listings, prices, and features, to help users make well-informed purchasing decisions. The App should also provide useful features such as special offers, car comparison, and a bustling used car section to enhance the overall user experience and make the car buying and selling process as seamless as possible.
User Stories
- As a car buyer, I want to be able to easily contact the seller of a vehicle I am interested in to ask questions and schedule a test drive.
- As a seller, I want to be able to receive and respond to inquiries from potential buyers quickly and easily through my mobile device.
- As a buyer, I want to be able to save my favorite vehicles and receive notifications when a similar vehicle becomes available.
- As a seller, I want to be able to post my vehicle for sale and receive alerts when a potential buyer is interested in it.
Scope
- The mobile app will allow users to connect with one another through phone, SMS, or WhatsApp.
- Users will be able to view and save their favorite vehicles and receive notifications when similar vehicles become available.
- Users will be able to post their own vehicles for sale and receive alerts when a potential buyer is interested.
- The app will also have the ability to view and compare car models and prices, similar to YallaMotor’s website.
Constraints
- The app will be specific to the Middle East region, and will not be available in other countries.
- The app will only be available for iOS and Android platforms.
- The app will only be available in English and Arabic.
- The app will be for personal use only, and not for commercial use by car dealerships.

The Solution
The YallaMotor mobile app was designed tol have a user-friendly interface that allows car buyers to easily connect with sellers through Phone, SMS, or WhatsApp. The app also has a search function that allows users to filter results based on their preferences and budget. Users will also be able to compare different models and get detailed information about each car including prices, specs, and features. Additionally, the app also includes a section for special features like insurance, export and financing, and used cars with over 14,000 listings. The app also has a feature that allows users to schedule a test drive and receive notifications about upcoming car shows and events in the region.
Feedback/Impact
Directly contributed to the implementation of data driven UI/UX Overhaul that resulted in the “Growth” of Monthly Users (Used Cars UAE) by 240% (3.4x), PVs (Used Cars) uplift by 42%, Session Duration by 8.1%, DAU by 106% (2x), Chat Leads by 182% (2.8x), and Call Leads by 166% (2.7x)
Reflecting on the project
As my first customer facing app that went live, it was an amazing process for me. I was specifically focused on keeping everything data-centric such as the filters to select the models of the car that are most popular and used by the users in all 6 countries, and adding most selected price ranges, year ranges and milage ranges. Overall, it was an amazing learning experience to handle everything end-to-end of the product lif-cycle as a designer and a product manager.
